What would Montesquieu think of the way Bush has ran our country the last 8 years?
Montesquieu would not be pleased with George W. Bush and the way he ran our country for the past 8 years. Bush "offered the reason of secrecy to cover political power-grabs." (Deep Bush Corruption). George W. Bush, during his presidency, had started to take too much power for himself, something that Montesquieu was completely against. Montesquieu favored the type of government the United States is supposed to have, one with three equal branches of government. Bush would have secret conversations through undetected emails, then gain more and more power throughout his presidency. This is one of the main things Montesquieu believed should never happen in a government.
